I should probably introduce myself. I am fairly new here. I am a
composer and a teacher. I teach 70 students at a large private
conservatory in southeastern Wisconsin, USA. I mostly teach piano, but
I also teach theory and composition. I have developed a curriculum for
teaching children music technology, and I currently have 7 music
technology students.
I compose music for music libraries. My compositions have appeared on a
variety of shows, including 20/20, Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The
Today Show, The Tonight Show, and The Teen Choice Awards among others.
If you are interested, you can hear one of my pieces on the Vienna
Symphonic website at www.vsl.co.at. Click on DEMOS and then USER DEMOS
and then my name (Sam Ecoff).

I use Digital Performer as my main sequencer, and I have recently
gotten into Logic Pro for softsynths. I use a Fatar SL-880 as my main
controller at my studio, and an Oxygen 8 with my laptop. In the future,
I think that I will probably not invest in too many more vintage
instruments, and I plan to spend most of my time adding software synths
and adding to my modular rig. Even with powerful soft modulars such as
Reaktor and Oasys, I find myself returning over and over to my hardware
modular rig as it offers a different way to be creative. Looking
forward to more discussion of older gear....
