Hi Bruce , thanks for your input into this confusing issue. My Nord wave
was bought used but had all the sounds on it so I don't know if they came
on a disc. They are easily downloaded from the nord site though!
I'm comparing the Mellotron (Markus/Kean) library with Streely's....
First off there are three distinct M300 "string" sets that I have found.
One is the 2 violin that Wooly made famous. Then there is a string section
consisting of celloes, violas and violins. Last there is a solo violin (I
heard this one for myself at the Mellotron Ranch).
On the "Pinder Presents" disc of samples the M300 strings are the
cello/viola/ strings.
Mellotron's library has this as their M300A sound. If you buy a set for
your M400 you get that violin/viola section with a few cellos at the lower
register. Their M300B is the two violin sound.
Streetly has the M300A as the two violin sound. The Streetly M300B sounds
to me like the solo violin and I double checked this with the M300 solo
violin on the Nord and my recordings of Jerry's
M300. Phew, that's as much as I can figure out.TD
