I think it was Fritz a while back who waslamenting how the visual media (movies, etc.) keep expanding on quality andclarity while audio media (music, etc.) keeps squeezing the life out of thequality by sampling and smashing things down --- There’s also a reasonthat so much of what has been sliced, diced and regurgitated from digitalinstruments is from real instruments, like a multiple-ton pipe organ that can’tslip into your “hip” pocket. Have you listened to a direct-to-disk recordingon a good turntable with decent speakers? No tape shadow – and no digitalclip.…. “ipodgeneration”? im sorry to piss you off... but i'm partof the ipod generation. there is reason why cassette tapes, 8-track,reel-to-reel, vhs, etc. all died as a format. digital is the way to go.
