Listen to Jim!Topographic Oceans is a masterpiece, in my opinion. It's something (like water) to immerse yourself in (pardon thepun).Sorry but it can'thelp to be introduced to the piece so manyyears after it's release.Times and tastes have changed, but Close to the Edge and Talesare still fresh to my ears and many live experiences with both albumsrefreshes the feelings everytime. My 2 cents worth,Tony#510-----Original Message -----From: James ParthunSent:Monday, August 31, 2009 10:06 AMSubject:RE: [newmellotrongroup] Re: What's after supper?
Caffeine willnot help in the attempt to enjoy Topographic Oceans. It will onlyfrustrate you. Try the opposite end of the narcotic spectrum-barbiturates.

It doesn't matter if we are talking about themusic, album cover art, lyrics or mullets. I can say that the Tarkusalbum cover art was complete crap. Someone else can say it was the bestalbum cover ever. It would be awfully boring if everyone agreed oneverything.
Speaking of boring... Topographic Oceans - I've tried many times to getinto that album. I will try again, after a few Red Bulls.
