Although I'm no Focus fan and wasn't one back in the day, I was aware of them and at the least appreciated the quality of the musicianship they showed.  While a lot of their stuff was a bit over the top, in the context of the music of the time they were certainly forward thinking and if they had just a little longer-lasting success back when they were world tourers we would still be hearing yodeling in today's versions of prog music...

Hocus Pocus may be a novelty song (as is Yellow Submarine and quite a few by the Who) but you can't stop at that.  The playing on Hocus is wonderful and it should have made you enquire more!  When Focus played that song on BBC back in '71, the entire Polydor pressing plants were turned over to producing Moving Waves.  The live performance was astonishing, funny and impressive.
