The Mellotron that Crimson used on that 1969 tour (I saw two of those shows in West Palm Beach) was a Mark II with 2 silver handles on the sides. There is a website under the search of "King Crimson's Mellotrons" with pictures of that actual tron. According to the site it is still in Fripp's possession.

the ex-KC Mk2 is in Bob Moog's museum, where ever that is. At the
bottom of the above web-page is the photo I was banging on about,
together with the information.
