Hi Hessel- I had a similar problem about a year ago. Someone in our forum directed me to the solution (sorry, I forgot who, but thanks). Turned out that my headblock was contacting the headblock channel because one of the headblock rollers was missing (Yes, I bought it that way, and I don't know how the previous owner could've lost it). To fix it, I created a new roller out of nylon screws, and then got new rollers from Streetly. But, anything that causes the headblock to short to the chassis in any way can cause extra noise. Check the headblock retention clips and insulators under the headblock channel, and make sure they are centered & not worn out. Maybe one of the retention clips is loose on top, and is rubbing on the chassis. Check the headblock cable for shield integrity. The 'tron is also famous for recieving RFI interference, so maybe a new appliance or computer in the house is causing the problem. It could also be a noisy preamp transistor. Hope this helps. -Bruce D. --- On Sat, 11/8/08, Hessel Herder <hessel@soundscape.nl> wrote: From: Hessel Herder <hessel@soundscape.nl> |
