sorry if i seem a dick, but this sets a precedent that would open up a huge can of worms, and it would likely turn into political mud-slinging that has no place on a list dedicated to mellotrons.

In all honesty, it wasn't what you said, it was the way in which you said it that I had a problem with. Chris sent what he did in good faith, plus he had attached a caveat to it. What you wrote back really came across like a deliberate slap down, as opposed to the reasoned response you've written above -- which I happen to agree with.
