I personally played Patrick's triple Orchestron at the Vako facility in St. Pete many years ago and the problem was obvious to everyone involved.
Much like the Mellotron it could be worked around by simply lifting the key as in a tape rewind and press down on it again without much trauma, but unfortunately that was not enough to save the instrument.
Talking with Patrick about this very problem, he was very frustrated with it and had sunk a lot of money into it.
Still it was an interesting experience all around between Patrick and Dave.

That's interesting. Moraz was so (allegedly) over the moon about it that
he was prepared to stick his name up in the advertising for the
instrument, etc etc. The problem with the Orchestron was that it sounded
∗rubbish∗. What were they thinking? And more to the point, what were the
musicians thinking when they eventually heard it?
