Thanks for replying Berington. So many thoughts raing around my head now anout Mellotrons and the ultra-rich tapestry of artists we were so lucky to have back in the late 60's -78ish, and Progressive Rock. Back then they only thought about breaking the boundaries. But now we refer to it as progressive rock. Big deal- just a term to alighn with a certain spirit. T ull very different from Yes which was very differant from Gentle Giant who were very different from Pink Floyd. At some point the fick audiences left prog behind because it was pompous or self-serving. Whatever. The truth is that it continues still but without the need to satify the live audience. Sounds like a perfect scenario to me! Create your best, most passionate work(cuz you can these days) and run with it! Layer mellotron on top of synth and Hammond and go with it as far as your artistic sense tells you to. :)
