Yeah...I know about that "wife killing me" thing.  My Mini is going in the shop, and " Ah got me some plans!"

I just heard from Robin at EMS this past weekend.

The wait for a Synthi A is 2 years as estimated by Robin Wood. At some point they are going to start looking a little different.  Don't know about the  wait on VCS3 but I'll let you know when he sends me a bill or when you hear about my wife killing me.. I do know they not running short on any Putney parts.

BTW they are opening up queues for New DK2, Random Voltage, 8 octave filter bank and Frequency Phase Shifter.  NOS  I think.

Sheesh!  The real thing must be a mess, cuz the VI is pretty nutty.

I like this paragraph from a review of XILS 3 plugin:

"If you’re hoping to recreate your favourite VCS3 sounds on XILS 3, forget it. You can’t. The sound generators are too clean, too stable and too close to the ideal, the modifiers are too clean, too stable and too close to the ideal, and the controllers are, umm, too clean, too stable and too close to the ideal. The thing is, the VCS3 really is a ghastly piece of engineering and it achieves what it does precisely because its signal paths are so dirty, it’s so unstable and it’s so unpredictable. By removing this essential un-ness, you change the nature of the beast."

I think VI means virtual instrument.
