Hey Gino,

I am sure I likely have some germanium in my storage but finding them might be a real task since a lot of that stuff was boxed and stacked to the roof many years ago.  I did come across this guy on You Tube that might be able to help you out:

I have learned a lot in the last few days.  I have built up a few prototypes and am discovering a huge variety variance depending on the component selection.  it seems that capacitor and diode selection matters more than the choice of the transistor. This discovery has preamp implications for the Mellotron.

Now, in addition to guitar devices I am going to build a solid state Mellotron outboard preamp.  If anybody wants to sell me their accumulation of old caps, diodes and other parts box items I would be grateful.

Once more my thanks for being so kind and encouraging over my misfortune.

best

Gino,

I did a quick web search for germanium transistors for sale. Maybe one of the links on this page will be helpful:

http://www.bing.com/search?q=germanium+transistors+for+sale&qs=AS&form=QBLH&pq=germanium+tran&sc=8-14&sp=2&sk=AS1

You could also try emailing Eric at STG Soundlabs. He builds 5U synth modules with vintage components.
