Subject: [Mellotronists] Mellotron M400 for Sale in NYC

Hello,

I am selling my Mellotron M400, SN 170. I recently purchased a Chamberlin Music Master which will need restoration, and I don't have the room (or the funds) for both.
I purchased this Mellotron in 2007, from an ad on this list. The previous owner claimed that it was the oldest known Mellotron in the US, but reading through some previous posts, I now know that isn't true!
It has the upgraded motor control and new capstans. It has the Strings, Horns and Choir tape rack. Included is the muff cover, manuals, and VHS tapes: "The Workings" and "The Sound" tape. I digitized the maintenance tape into a Quicktime, which may be easier for you!
It sounds good, and I've used it on many sessions. However, I have had to make the pressure pad/pinch roller adjustments before recording. Cosmetically, it looks good, except for some slight smudges and scratches that aren't very noticeable.
I can't imagine shipping it, so local pickup only.
I would like to get exactly what I paid for it, $4500.
Don't use the above email to contact me, use joemcginty7@gmail.com

thanks,

Joe
