There is a guy selling pancakes of LGR-50 on Ebay and the Cartguys too for about $75.  The Dynamax is cart tape, it is made for broadcast cart machines and and is the quiestest slickest  medium saturation tape I trust it for recording because it wont contribute to distortion.  Basf LGR is a type that is back coated but not really back lubricated like the Dynamax But it is the tape that Space Echos are biased for. People will overcharge for it.

Like I said,  unless I am doing critical recording, I just cut up old 8 track tapes  and they are flawless in my RE201.  Streetly should get into tape echos.  It would be a simple side product for them, this is childs play for them. They created amazing playback machines.

Does anybody want to go in with me on a reel of BASF LGR-50 or Dynamax or Echoplex.  We have three choices, they average about  $70/ reel but 300 feet of tape should last forever.

I have been told that Space echoes are biased for BASF  Dynamax is thick 8 track tape and echoplex tape is for Echoplexes of which I know virtually nothing.

Is Mellotron tape back coated, I know it has many positive attributes.
