Subject: Re: [newmellotrongroup] OT Bert Weedon R.I.P

Bert Weedon used to record at Grosvenor Studios, B'ham where a lot of the Birmingham bands cut their first records.  It was where the SFX  recordings for Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds and Stingray were recorded.  John and Jean Taylor who owned it were good friends of Les and Sylvia Bradley so there is a connection!  Old recording studios have stories to tell that will go to the grave with the owners sadly.

Just saw that Bert Weedon has died at he age of 91. I have distant memories of learning to play guitar from "Play in a Day", I'm sure the British on the list will remember him, not sure if he was well known in the U.S.A.
