I saw Monster Magnet a long time ago as an opener at the Concord Pavilion. They were one of the worst bands
I have seen at a professional concert level venue. They were practically booed of the stage. Boring performance
with no direction or redeeming qualities….at least that was my experience (and that of thousands of others who
were also in attendance that day.

Hey Mark,
Never heard of Monster Magnet; I listened to a few tracks; not bad.
One of my friends is mostly into prog and he turned me on to this group during the mid 90's. They are a mix of metal and symphonic prog. Their vocalist "Mr. Doctor" reminds me a little of Peter Gabriel when he was with Genesis and slightly of Peter Hammill.
I like them, but I don't find myself listening to their albums too often.
Robert

You can't go far wrong with a nice dollop of 'Spine Of God' by Monster Magnet at ridiculous volume.

I like Yes and the Moodies, too, but they're no more pretentious than Bach, Beethoven or Zappa. Pretension is irrelevant. It's all entertainment. Now K.C. and the Sunshine Band...
