I'll third (at least) the west coast concept. I'll even be specific andsuggest Vancouver, Canada! (No one ever comes here, so I figure thesuggestion can't hurt!)
The last Mellotron Summit that I attended was Moses Lake 1992. But it wasa blast, David and Sandi were generous hosts, and it was great hangingwith Markus, Terry, Robert, Froth, Tom and Paul G, etc. We filmedinstructional videos, replaced tape frames, listened to the Mellotronlibrary, talked tape and prog rock, and ate way too many incrediblehomemade pies.
I'll never forget waking up on the morning of Day 2, in my sleeping bag, crammed between an M300, an acrylic M400, a Chamberlin M1, the back of aMk V, and if I remember correctly, a 2600. And I brought back a Mk V anda Chamberlin!
I also remember falling asleep at 3am to the sounds of a room full ofpeople talking about Mellotrons, and then waking up at 9am.....to a roomfull of people talking about Mellotrons!
Those late 1980's/early 90's were exciting times!
