Hello All,
I am running power from one SKB to the next and I want to know if it is OK
to use 18 awg wire to send out the power one to a barrier strip and then to
the speakon connector and pcb connecting power to the modules. It is stated
below to use 16awg, although all of my MOTM power cables are 18awg. I have a
bunch of 18awg wire here with the crimps for it and I don't want to buy
three new rolls (colors) of 16awg and new connectors just for this project
if I can avoid it.
Please tell me if this sounds OK...
I have mounted a one unit panel to the left of my rear mounted power 900
supply. On this panel I have a Speakon connector and a panel mounted barrier
strip. I plan to use the existing wires and crimps to come down the opposite
side (over the power one) to the panel mounted barrier strip. This strip
splits the power to the pcb on the 900 and to the Speakon on the one space
panel. This is good, right?
The speakon takes power through a 3 foot cable to the second SKB cabinet
where I have a rear mounted 19" 2-space panel with a Speakon and a pcb for
power distribution mounted. The wires from the Speakon go directly to the
pcb for power distribution. Is this good?
What about the fourth wire in the Speakon cable? Should I run a double
ground through the Speakon cable? Please advise
