I also have two homebuilt 24u wide cabinets, soon to be 3. Theoretically I could have just stacked one on top of the other, but although the minwax finish is pretty good looking, I'm suspicious that after several years the two cabinets might start to stick together. So I just used a bunch of those little clear plastic washers that come in packs of blank cd's and dvd's - I had a lot of those sitting around, finally found a use for them. They work great - provide just a bit of separation, and the cabinet on top doesn't slide around, so all is well.
