If Mouser wasn't backordered on Panavises, I might be soldering now too. But
I was just cleaning up some old mail and saw this from a post of yours:

>>The cabinet configuration I'm planning will be a series of smaller cabinets
sort've like the Moog IIIp (I was even going to cover the cases in Tolex,
but after several list members yelled at me for that ;) I'm rethinking a
nice wood). My plans are for two rows of 10 1u-width modules each with a 3u
'utility row' along the bottom.<<

Why were people yelling at you for this? I am going to go with Moog style
tolex covered cases myself, with black metal corner protectors and handles.
I want my MOTM to look like a Moog or Roland System 700. That is the way
synths are supposed to look. The format I am going with will be 12U wide (6
typical 2U modules wide) by 3 modules high. This is a good number of modules
for the power supply and gives a nice rectangular aspect ratio like that of a
Moog case, but a little bigger in actual size. Also, I think the same size
case can hold 9 wide by 3 high Modcan modules should I need to add some or
build up a case of them.

The reason I mention this is to get others to see the light so maybe Paul
will decide on a case like this as a possible product before I have to go out
and build them myself. Or if anyone knows of a cheaper source than $15-$20 a
yard for tolex? Someone mentioned seeing $12 a yard, but he couldn't
remember where. (I need to build a case for my Doepfer too)
