Can you buy online DVDs of music only? I didn't think that DVD-Audio was lossy.
I know typical DVD encoding is lossy, too, but then again, I don't buy my music
on DVD and never listen to DVDs in headphones.

To the untrained ear, I'd agree. But even at 320kbps, it still narrows the
separation and muddy's the high end, and it's far from indistinguishable. It
might work fine for haystack EQ rock, but it significantly harms music that has
wide dynamic range and wide frequency response (trance, ambient, etc..).

It's definitely there and noticeable. You might not be able to hear it, but it
has a noticeable (negative) effect.
