I'll put this in the same category as the 2U high tall panels I had planned
for SKB cases and SKB backs. There is simply not enough interest to make
any quantity of these. I have a stack of SKB backs in my garage to prove
it.
What I think would be better is making more room by putting the power supply
and a set of mults in that 2U of space. They could be standard mults or 940
style stuff. But, even when I bring this up, I hear from 3 or 4 people
tops.

Yes, I pulled a 940 out of the rack to see and you are correct. What is
needed is a set of brackets, one for each end and one for the space
between the modules. These would have to stiff enough to limit the flex of
the joined panels. Perhaps a raised section that would wedge against the
edge of the panels to limit flex. A possible Stooge metalworks product????
