I know of at least 2 MOTM customers that have PhDs in DSP....so
guys....? from: Paul S.
Darn - my PhDs are in PMS and DUIs...been way too 'overstudied' in
these areas.
But seriously folks -
Something tells me that your time, Paul, would be better spent on
continuing with the analog design stuff you've proven to excel at
already - and why re-invent the wheel anyways? coding could become
really a blackhole...
But please don't let ME suggest, that I have any clue about 'your
time'. I know you've got very little of it, like myself - and I'm
just getting good at saying 'no' to many requests to: (pick one) join
a band(s) - do production work - co-write/collaborate - engineer -
"teach me about MIDI", etc,etc,etc...it endless!
Yet does make me feel wanted every now and then - :)
While my desire to enter into the recent thread (threat?)
concerning "what to do: this or that and whats the best way to go for
MOTM and the synth world, etc," ended in COMPLETE unconsciousness
last eve - I still think and feel that the vital (and obviously
successful $$$ )work has already been done and is established.
So do whatever you want!
I do whole-heartily agree that "sharing" is the way to go as opposed
to the 'proprietary' leanings of some techno-genious types out
there...
While this whole modular rebirth thing has many players - I think its
fairly established that it wouldn't work at all without this concept
in place to begin with. I for one - will be working towards
continuing that spirit as best I can...and if anybody wants....
Having some experience in the 'corporate music world' of progressive
rock (if you could even call it that) there's LOTS of egos running
amok in what is really a small universe to begin with and hence, a
fair amount of people scambling over $$$ for a VERY small piece-of-
the-pie to begin with. Unfortunately, revenue is essential, yet the
mindset that tends to develop when pursuing it - tends to decay and
rot everything away towards the end of that cycle...
for whatever its worth,
