Subject: more cable info

OK several people have asked me about cables of longer length. The answer
is YES. You can get them any length you want over 6 feet. I am not going
back and dividing the first 6 feet into any other increments. The price
will be "approximately" 30 cents per-foot on top of the 6 foot price. It
will be in that vicinity. I'll firm up these "special" orders with those
ordering them.

I am trying to find a good source for quality 3.5 mm cables for those of you
using those size jacks on some of your gear. I have had a request for 3.5
mm (sometimes called 1/8") on one end and 1/4" on the other. Rapco will
supply them in black only with the colors of heat shrink. I have samples of
the cable and connectors coming. However, I do NOT like the price quotes I
am getting. So, I will look to my other supplier. More info later.

However, I see that John Blacet recently introduced some new neon color
cable options in the 3.5 mm size. Maybe that is the best place to go for
those. Of course, you have to solder them yourself.

Another option I have used is the molded surplus 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm option. I
have purchased several of thee from All Electronics in the 6 foot length and
either cut off one end or split them in the middle for 3 foot or shorter.
Put a nice 1/4 inch connector on the cut off end and you have semi-diy
without having to solder the 3.5 mm. These cables run $1.25 to $1.50. I
have purchased a few and have no complaints.
