heat shrink and no cable at half price. ;)
HA. Yes, I am avoiding that. :) BTW, those that do like to DIY, thses are
commonly available 1/4" plugs. Mouser has them. You can DIY these cables
cheaper than you can get them from me. If, if you really want to solder
them, go ahead. The logo'ed heat shrink will not be available separately.
> And I did get quite the laugh out of Paul B's adding tolerance to the
cable length color code!
Me too. I intended to add his comments to me "need new drugs" post buy
couldn't put my hands on his mail.
> In all seriousness, I do have some cable question - What color is the
printed synthtech logo going to be? (Or do we pick this also?)
I don't know the answer to this 100% for certain. The sample has silver (on
black heat shrink). I don't know if they are all going to be silver or if
the light colors have something else. I would assume the former, but I'll
have to find out.
> I think I want white heatshrink on all cables and it seems like a black
logo is most appropriate on white. (Which is
why I am asking - a white logo on white heatshrink and/or a black logo on
black heatshrink doesnt seem too desirable.)
I will find out and let the list know.
> Any idea how the logo will be styled? I think it would be cool to have
some symmetry in the design - like "synthesis ~ technology" (where the ~ is
supposed to be the sine wave logo thing.)
Well, I have not finalized that yet. I suppose I could do that. However, I
was leaning toward "synthesis" over the top of "technology" with the logo at
one end. The reason has to do with heat shrink length. I did not want the
shrink to be any longer than necessary. That has to do with adding to the
"lack of droop" factor. However, I will entertain all input.
> And a request - can we get some kind of demonstration of the flexibility
of this cable? (Something like, plug those sample cables into some modules
and take a pictures so we can see how the cable "droops" with the heatshrink
and all.)
Yes, I will do that with some samples tonight.. In fact, I will address the
whole subject of droop and a more flexible cable option in another e-mail to
the list.
