I can answer, having worked with Harald Bode's son, Peer, and having met Mr.
Bode himself.

'Bohd' is close. It is two syllables: 'BOD' (rhymes with 'abode') - 'uh'.
Accent on the first syllable.

Oh, and Peer rhymes with pear (the fruit).
