I use Sonar XL for MIDI sequencing, and of course it can also parallel
audio.
When I'm working solely with audio, I prefer Innovative Quality Software's
"SAW Studio," which is so easy to use. Unfortunately, this product was
discontinued this year so that the engineers could work on very high-end
stuff.
[I hate to say it, but the best MIDI sequencer work I ever did was on an old
DOS program called "Sequencer Plus Gold." By today's standards, it has
horrendous omissions and wasn't even graphical--the display was text mode
only. But I could do ∗anything∗ with that software and the keyboard in half
the time that I can do it now with a mouse and an XVGA display. I guess that
tags me as a bona fide old curmudgeon.]
