For black, brown, or white tolex, try "Parts is Parts" in Wilmington, VT:

Does ∗everyone∗ dislike Tolex...?

Personally, I ∗love∗ wood-if I make something out of wood, I never paint it.
Always let the true beauty of a material, be it wood, metal, whatever, to
shine through.

That said, the cases that I'm designing need to be somewhat roadworthy and
will probably get banged up a little going in and out of my trunk. I was
figuring on making it out of 5/8" particle board and covering it (particle
board doesn't have a lot of 'inner beauty' value for me). If my machine were
to be studio-only, I would certainly make it out of walnut or cherry.

So, just for the sake of argument... does anyone know where one ∗could∗
purchase Tolex should they decide to go that route...? The closest thing
that I can find at a local fabric store is this cushy black vinyl
leatherette with a sort of backing to it that makes to too stretchy and
weak.
