Subject: Case DIY questions

Hi guys,

I am DIYing a case for my MOTM. I have a few questions I would like to
throw out to you all.

1) Can anyone recommend a high quality source for case hardware? handles,
rubber feet, metal corners, vinyl? I have sent Larry Hendry an email in
regards to flatrails.

I want to make a 12u wide 10u high rack. This unit is being designed
primarily for live performance. I would like to keep it from being too deep.
The power supply will be on the front. I would like to make it 6 inches deep.

2) 6 inches of depth space is ok, right? Modules seem to be 4.5" deep and
smaller.

3) I intend to put a hole on the back so as to be able to run a line off the
power supply to power other modules in a different rack (A law of modular
systems: One's MOTM will expand in size over time). I anticipate a .5"
diameter hole, might that be too small? Are there any electronic needs for
any other holes or openings in the case (I do realize I will need internal
space to wire the modules to the power supply)?

My sister, who has good skills for this sort of thing, is the one really
building this. We are considering a removable panel behind the power supply
to get at it more easily. If not, the back will be relatively simple to
remove. My visual reference here is probably an ARP 2600 (without the
keyboard of course). I have not quite decided if I should put a removable
front panel on or not. Perhaps I can find a padded removable cover,
cloth-like and shaped, to cover it while in transport.

Thanks
Rob

PS Moog filter samples sound great. 850 looks cool. I love MOTM...
