MOTM panels are NOT powder paint. The brackets and rails are. However,
powder coat textures do not come even close to the appearance of MOTM
panels. To match the MOTM finish, you must use a wet paint. As Paul has
pointed out before it is a Sherwin Williams paint called Polane. To offer
you a few more details, it is Polate-T. It requires the use of a catalyst
and reducer. SW recommends a primer. It requires a catalyst / reducer
(different of course). So, for one gallon of paint coverage, be prepared
for just a tad over $200.
However, I have to applaud Paul's choice. That is the toughest paint I have
ever seen for metal.

Subject: [motm] Re: Panels - Approx. Price
Thanks for your response, Jeff. Yes, helps a lot. The prices seem
fairly reasonable.
Is there a reason the Schaeffer panels don't have tick marks around
the knobs? I noticed this on the Oakley website and figured someone
left them off on purpose. I assumed you could just add them through
the Schaeffer front panel designer app. Is this just a matter of
preference/cost or does Schaeffer not offer this?
How about the paint? Does Schaeffer not offer the powder paint as
used on the MOTM modules? Again, is this just a matter of
preference/cost?
Thanks,
John
