Electronotes is the source of all things in analog synth design (well, up to
issue #125. Then it's DSP based.). Written in
in the mid-70s, in a clear concise style, this loose-leaf publication is
what got me going on synth design.
You can still order the copies, with the "Preferred Circuits Collection"
(sort of a 'greatest hits') as a seperate
item.
The 'PCC' is a ∗great∗ thing to have! Just be aware it is dated, there are
op amps and other parts either
no longer available or that should be upgraded. But as an intermediate-level
guide to how the innards
of VCO, VCA, etc work, Electronotes it the place. The VCF explanations are
still the best ever written.
There is low-level calculus/high scool algebra math.
Bernie Hutchins is a nice guy, but he teaches full-time at Cornell and if
you do order, expect a 4 MONTH
delay. If you are overseas, expect a 10 MONTH delay. But once you get these,
you will see why they are
worth it (like waiting for MOTM stuff, eh?).
