Subject: MKI internal battery

Hello all. I just got a Poly-800 (MKI) for Christmas. It's my first
real synth and I look forward to recording with it. I've been doing
some online research and I've discovered that the MKII came with
internat batteries to keep program and sequencer info stored when
batteries were being changed or the keyboard was unplugged. I read
that the MKI did not. However, my MKI keeps all that info without any
power connection. I opened it today and, sure enough, there was a
battery in there. I'm pretty sure it was in there from the factory.
In fact, I'm very sure. How could this be? Did I have a
misunderstanding (I'm liable to have had one). If someone could get
back to me on this, I'd appreciate it! Thanks a lot.
