Subject: Re: [korgpolyex] 2.65 Portamento/Mono mode?

From: Michael Hawkins <korgpolyex800@...>

There are still some kinks to work out with the portamento code.

One of the main problems with the old code was that if you released the first (lead) note before playing the next (destination note), there would not be any portamento slide at all. So I fixed that particular problem. Now, you should be able to do trills easier than before.

However, I also tried to redesign the code so that the slide time would be roughly the same no matter how distant the two keys. And it kind of works, there are some problems though. The main issue is written up in the release notes.

So, although I've managed to put in the time to improve the timing and the note on/off behavior, I am going to have to wait a week or more before I can spend the time to iron out the kinks. And if people would prefer the original set up as it was then perhaps I can just revert back.

/Mike

Thanks Mike.
Seems to be working like it used to now after the reflash.
The glide rate seems a little slow though.  I thought it use to have a wider range.  Now it seems to go medium speed to very slow to crazy slow, a quick glide doesn't seem to happen.

It won't let you begin to glide one direction, then go back the other direction mid slide when you hit a different key?
Say start high, hit a low note and it begins to glide down.. Then hit a high note again and it stays playing but goes back up again.

I guess the mono mode never did let you play "trills".
Where you hold one note down, then hit another note while holding the first.
The new note takes over and plays, but if you let it go, it will restart the previous key still held down.
Let's you sound like a pro very easily.
