Subject: Re: [korgpolyex] Problem loading original presets on Poly800Mk1

From: Marcus Wilson <JB@...>

G'day

I recently loaded my presets up using the .wav from the files section

I ended up using max volume out of my mac laptop, with headphone socket
plugged into the back of the korg
there is a switch on the back of the korg marked hi/lo, which is
supposed to be in a different spot depending on whether you have line
level in or headphone in

try toggling the hi/lo switch to a different location

best regards,

Marcus

I still have no audio out of my korg, which i have traced back to the
tone generator chip, M5232 no producing its tone.

I am currently searching for a replacement chip, and also datasheets on
this chip.

OKI who originally made the chip obsoleted it back in '93 so i guess im
stuck looking 2nd hand.

all the midi out and programming patches works fine, after repairing
the +/-5v circuits on the board, so if nothing else, i got myself a
cheap midi keyboard, which is what i was originally looking for when i
came across the korg
