Subject: cheap Negative 5v supply to drive a NJM2069

From: bperkins211@...

I would like to have a cheap, yet usable -5v supply to power the bipolar needs of a NJM2069 Filter IC chip.. the one inside Korg Poly 800.

I was looking at this on ebay.

Mini DC-DC Converter Adjustable Step down Power Supply Module replace LM2596s UL

I heard you can make that output Negative Voltage by connecting your V+ source supply to the V+IN and the source Gnd to the OUT+.
Then you can connect the needed Negative supply up by attaching it's Gnd to Out+ and it's V- to the Out-.

Not so sure about all this.. anyone else know if this is right or can be done?
It sure would be nice to have such a cheap and simple way to get the proper -5v supply to the NJM2069 Filter chip.
I'd like to play around with one as an external VCF on a breadboard and maybe hookup MIDI control to it with other circuitry too.
Thanks!
