Send your HAWK to me, along with the ribbon cables, and I can check it to make sure it's all OK.

/Mike

Subject: [korgpolyex] HAWK800 acting up all the time

Hi all,

well about a year ago I was the happy owner of a HAWK800 + atomahawk but after I built it in the poly only acted weird.
Have't used it that much since, also because the machine detuned like crazy, I thought it was the pitch circuit but no.

Now after this long period I had the energy to desolder the mods and make them semi-permanent.

So, all boards out. Machine is happy again, on every front.
I reinstall the HAWK800 - > detuned and lower octave not responding.
Hawk out -> nice and dandy again.

When I first got the HAWK800 I got a strange error with a rom mismatch of some sort. I had to reflash the rom to 1.98, (swap the roms to a different socket and such that all worked out - well... the machine still played)
I reinitialized patches, changed EX/Poly rom mode, checked my welding, ... you name it. all was looking fine except that my Poly MK1 just does not like the HAWK kit; same issues as above.

So. I'm at a loss here and it's killing the fun in my Poly800... I hope anyone has a golden tip, maybe how to reinitialize the roms to their proper initialized values. otherwise I'll most likely have to pull it all out, install two pots and be happier with a slayer mod.
