Did you get "GOOD" on the display after sending the default patches to Poly?
Did you have "program write" switch set to "enable"?

Do all keypad functions work? Can you write patches? Can you enter sequencer mode by setting sequencer enable switch? Does all notes play? Do you hear tones with correct pitches? Does joystick bend work?

Have you had a look inside Poly to see if there's any battery leakage, water or other physically damage?

Are you sure you're using the correct power adapter?

/Mike

Subject: [korgpolyex] Need Help Diagnosing a sick Poly

I recently bought a non working Poly 800 MK1.  The previous owner said it made strange noises.  I thought I could load the factory patches (like I have before) and bring it back to life.  No joy. I tried that several times to no avail.

So far I have replaced the batteries and loaded the factory (WAV) patches and it still does the following:
Some patches make a low volume sound/noise - others do not.  The filter and other parameters available on the grid seem to affect a change in the sound but it is hard to say if they are working correctly.

Any ideas?

Thank You
