Well, apparently you may need the battery installed for it to boot in factory form.

I'm getting two different boot ups though. It does some flashing around with the screen before settling on 
"1.8 50 01"

One time I got the "p 11" but it seems to not work. None of the front panel buttons do anything.

Is it possible that my PCB is working but the firmware is crapped out?

Does the position of the 'enable/disable' switches have any effect on startup? The manual mentions having everything on disable to 'setup', whatever that means. Is there an alternate testing boot up sequence?
