Specs are of course ok. But it doesn't matter if it's 300 or 900 mA. It does matter if it's less than 300.

Oh! I think you misunderstood me.
 
 I didn't write that was the ONLY one that would work 4 me.
I wrote that I refused to connect a PSU to my little Poly-800 that wasn't
the exact specifications that KORG used in the PSU they supplied with the
synthesizer when it was new in the box.
hence, the 300 milliamps, 9volt DC.
 I certainly don't have many rules when it comes to my work gear,
but one I do is use the factory specs in the owners manual or service manual
when I replace anything.
Even a silly wall wart!
thats just me I suppose...
And if I can't manage,  I sell it to someone that believes they have the knowledge,
and wants to experiment around with things.
Thats why i wrote it was just a thought, I should have said "just my thoughts..."
