Someone (cyllall?) just posted pictures of work being done on a joystick. Looks like it's a Poly-61 assembly.
Seems the question is if they're the same. No they're not but they're very similar.
Coincidentally, I just worked up a new PCB for the joystick assembly that uses a PS2 joystick assembly.

I figured I would offer the new joystick board as a replacement for the old type since I get quite a few people asking for replacement joysticks. Probably because they get smashed from time to time and can't be repaired.
