Get a 9V DC supply that you can get the screws out of, and remove the rectifier and smoothing capacitor. I did this with an old ZX81 power supply for my mate's Alesis HR16 some 22 years ago as quick hack to get him going an hour before an important gig, when we were at uni. Some 15 years later he sold it with the ZX81 PSU (appropriately labelled of course), and as far as I know it's still going, somewhere...
