The current doesn't matter as long at the power supply provides at least as much as the device needs. Device destruction occurs when the voltage doesn't match. VOLTAGE MUST MATCH. The device will draw only as much current as it needs. The power supply will not 'force' extra current into it. Current is just potential. How much electric force is potentially available. A 300mA device can use a 1000mA power supply. Less than 300mA may just do nothing, or it may damage the device on rare occasions in particular types of circuits, which are not found in synthesizers. More current available does not mean it will harm the device. I am not going to make claims about anyone else's education in particular, but basic electric theory appears not to be some people's strong suit.
