Subject: [korgpolyex] Battery backup mod - and a fault appeared...

Hi guys,

I'm new to the group - hello, and hope you don't mind me diving straight in with a question..!?

I have a Poly800 Mk1. I just performed the battery back up mod as outlined on a website I found. Just previous to this I had no sounds in the synth as it was not used for a while and after the mod I reloaded them all to check it out.

But I noticed that on notes played in the lowest octave, (on patches that are programmed 'low') I am getting the top high octave notes breaking through - very quietly in the background. I suspect it is probably there on all patches, but most apparent on the bassier ones...!?

Now, to perform the mod the instuctions told me to remove: C87, C88, D23 and D15 near to where the battery symbol is and where I put my holder.

I am now wondering if this might be the cause as I have just looked in our files section here and there is a battery backup mod that describes a completely different method - removing R1 and D1...!

I would need to take the synth apart and reverse the procedure to see, as it was definitely not doing this last time I used it - and before I performed this mod..!

Could anyone please tell me if this might be a 'fault' that has appeared and is just coincidental?

Many thanks for any help.
Cheers,
TOM
