If it flashes the displays 88 88 88 but doesn't show HA-800, then I would say you have one or more address lines not soldered or perhaps even bridged.

Check that none of the ribbon cable pins have bent over.
Then double check all of the soldering and check for bridges.

You can always email me directly for installation problems too. Especially if you get to the point where you've run out of options. I have had probably half a dozen customers send their HAWK boards back to me when they couldn't get them working.

Have you tried holding down the Write button when you turn it on to enter diagnostics mode?
