Hi from Austria / Europe!
Sorry for the crossposting but I have talked to different people of those lists about this addon device...
Please delete this email if your are not interested in modding your synthesizers.
A while ago I mentioned that I will make a synthesizer addon to offer a more comfortable value
input instead of the PLUS/MINUS buttons.
My design - the so called "datadial" - is ready. It consists of an mechanical encoder and a small
PCB that holds a microcontroller
and analog switched. The microcontroller decodes the encoder movements and control the analog
switches that will be wired in parallel to the PLUS and MINUS buttons in your synthesizer.
In this way the addon simulates PLUS/MINUS keypresses.
As every synthesizer needs his special timing (Pulse and pause width) this setting can be done in an
elegant way: You enter a "safe code" and afterwards you enter the pulse/pause time. The setting will be stored
in the internal EEPROM of the microcontroller so that you setup is stored permanently.
You can change your settings nearly as often as you like as about 10000 to 100000 changes can be done. :-)
The addon should work with every synth that works with 3V to 5V voltage on the keyboard, even if the keyboard is
scanned (thats the normal way the keyboards work).
I manufactured some PCBs and they are now ready for shipping.
The number of boards is limited as my time is also very limited.
So if you need more information about it and want to have a look at it have a look at my website.
There you can also see some photos of how to add this addon to a synth (here it is the Kawai K3M).
Please respect that I only sell on a private base.
