I think the actual Hawk800 was always working but i was having other issues entirely. The only real issues i had with the Hawk was that the smaller IC socket ribbon connector kept popping out of the socket but i see you mentioned that in the manual. I might get a better quality socket asnd see if that helps, or cable tie it in.
Everything appears to be working fine as far as the Hawk800 is concerned so you can count that as a successfull install.
