Yep, I changed mine a couple years back. Seems like it was only the center conductor contact that was soldered. It wasn't too bad, just use the coolest iron you can get. (I have one of those butane irons from Radio Shack...very nice..infinitely adjustable...just don't use around combustibles!)

it works fine, but, turn it off and everything is gone.
is there something hiding inside to look for.
