Hello, I just found this group tonight while searching for help with a problem and HOPEFULLY someone here can provide it for Me.

First the back-story :
I've had a Poly 800 II for over 15 yrs and it is a highly valued piece of equipment in My studio. A few months ago it stopped powering up and I confirmed that the power supply was still good by connecting it to one of My two Poly 800s. So I thought the battery had gone out on it again. Because I don't really have enough free time between working full time and playing out 3 nights a week and out of town nearly every weekend, I took it to a local repair guy. He replaced the battery but was unable to get it back up and running stating that the "micro:" was bad. I've never been able to get a full explanation on what this is but thought I'd just address that issue seperately later. So ... I found a Poly 800 II on ebay and purchased it. Once it arrived I gave it a good cleaning and tested the audio and MIDI on it and everything seemed great. Then I went about loading the memory from the old one into the new one from the tape back-up I had prepared about 6 months ago.

The current state of things :
I've tried loading My custom sounds into the new Poly 800 II but can't get a "good" indication on either the "verify" or "load" setting. The light flickers as it should, but I either receive the "err" message or the display doesn't change. I panicked and thought maybe it was My recording; so I tried a Kid Nepro bank that I have on tape with the same result. I played with raising and lowering the volume and these have had no positive result. I even tried loading a bank of sounds via .wav format (both for My bank of sounds and someone else's), all to no avail.

The favor :
While researching this problem I found that some people are able to back-up and load the memory from/to these synths via sysex dumps. While I'm familiar with the process using other synths, I've never done this with My Poly 800 II. Would someone here PLEASE allow Me to email My custom bank of sound to them, then convert it to the sysex format and email it back to Me with instructions on how to load (and backup) the memory in this manner, so that all of My customized sounds won't be lost forever ?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this. I desperately hope that someone can help Me with this.
