Subject: question for HAWK-800 owners

Hi HAWK-800 owners,
I have a question for you all.
I am about to put LFO/EG control of DCO harmonics into the HAWK-800. However, due to the reduced number of available parameters, I am thinking about combining the harmonics parameters into one parameter. That is, parameters 13 to 16 would all be combined into 13. And, parameters 23 to 26 would be combined into 23 also.
Then, parameters 13 and 23 would have available values 0 through 15. 1 through 15 would engage the DCO harmonics in a fixed manner using binary math to determine the actual engaged harmonics.
So the harmonics would be engaged as follows where X means the harmonic is ON:
16' 8' 4' 2'
01 = X
02 = X
03 = X X
04 = X
05 = X X
06 = X X
07 = X X X
08 = X
09 = X X
10 = X X
11 = X X X
12 = X X
13 = X X X
14 = X X X
15 = X X X X
This arrangement provides a couple of advantages. First, it frees up the next three parameters for other purposes. Second, it allows MIDI and user parameter control of the harmonics in one parameter which will provide real time improvement over control of the harmonics.
Most important though, the next three parameters will be able to be used for new harmonic controls.
Parameter 14/24 will be the LFO or EG3 modulation selector.
Parameter 15/25 will be the harmonic order selector.
Parameter 16/26 will be the harmonic velocity sensitivity selector.
I'll go into the details of those later but right now, is everyone OK with dropping the single harmonic selector parameters and using a combined parameter for all four harmonics?
Mike.
