Hi Poly fans,
I tell you, it's just been way too quiet around this list. So let's try to keep this place progressive psy-trancing!
Here's an update on the progress of the HAWK-800MK2 kit. This would be the kit that will go into the Poly-800 MK2.
At this point, I've installed the HAWK-800 into a MK2 and have the MK1 software working in the MK2. That means, I've worked out where to mount the HAWK-800 - it goes into the location where the chorus board is in the MK1. I've also worked out the mod's required on the effects board. It requires removal of two 16 pin chips and the installation of a single jumper wire. Then the original cables running from the main board to the effects board have to be plugged into the new HAWK-800MK2 board. So far so good.
Now I had to move onto the software. And to be honest, I was beginning to get quite concerned about the complexity of it on Sunday but then last night I was able to find the effects handling subroutines and split them out. There are whole bunch of look up tables and what not to support the effects board. But at this point, I am only another hour or two of work away from getting the proof of concept software working.
So my question is to all you Poly-800 MK2 owners out there.
Once I finish the MK2 kit, how many of you will be buying the HAWK-800MK2 and or AtomaHawk kits? I would like to be able to stock up on boards and kits to make sure I can avoid the delays of the last bunch of orders I got.
Thanks to you all for your continued interest and support of this list and the new kits!
Mike.
